"Fully Known. Fully Loved"

1 O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.
4 You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.
13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. Psalm 139:1, 4, 13-14, 16

My child,
I have known you from eternity past. There was never a time when I did not know and love you. I have never wondered what you would think, say or do. I am always perfectly aware of your thoughts, preferences, dreams, desires, strengths and weaknesses.

When you attempt to hide something about yourself, remember your carefully crafted disguises don’t conceal your secrets, or anything else from me. It’s like when your children were young and used to cover their eyes and say, “You can’t see me.”

I always see you. I never have, nor ever will, make another you. I revel in your unique design. I was intimately acquainted with every cell of your body before time began. You are my wonderfully complex workmanship. Be whom I created you to be.

Your inadequacies don’t shock me. And your honesty does not keep me informed. I know your thoughts before you do. However, telling me what’s on your heart grows our relationship.

Even though it is not breaking news to me, I love when you express your ideas, requests, struggles, and gratitude. I revel in our communion. No matter what else you do, our relationship is what you are created for. Anything that nourishes our connection is magnificent.
 I love you,
Abba

My Abba,
I am blown away this morning when I ponder that the One who knows me best, loves me most. The reality of being fully known and fully loved changes everything for me.

I have invested heavily in my image for most of my life. Since I was a child, I embraced the lie that if anyone really knew me, they would find me too sad and damaged to be a desirable spouse, parent, friend, teacher, or leader.

So I became an expert at reading people and giving them what I thought they needed or wanted from me. I sharpened my skills as a shadow dancer, keeping my real girl safely hidden far from the spotlight of reality. For the most part, my distraction worked. People seemed to like my ability to build my life based only on their needs and desires.

Besides you, not many celebrated when I began to heal and grow out of that lopsided way of doing relationship. You gave me the ability to lay down my “unsanctified mercy” for others that was spawned from my pain, not your plans. Thank you that when I give to others from a place of your power, not my lack, I do not atrophy. I flourish.

Please empower me to live a life of radiant gratitude that comes from being perfectly known and perfectly loved.
I love you,
Mollie
