"Hungry Wave"

"God is faithful, who has called us into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."
1 Corinthians 1:9

Faithfulness: showing firm and constant commitment, giving time, effort and self to a particular cause

My child,
I am faithful. I consistently demonstrate my unwavering commitment to who I am, what I promise, and those I love. One of my promises is that I will be faithful to you. My loyalty does not shift with the wind of circumstances.

At times you have been tempted to doubt my faithfulness to you, because I may not have shown up in the way you wanted me to. My steadfast devotion to you doesn't always assure adversity will be locked up at a safe distance, keeping the streets of your life free from obstacles.

But my love does assure I will walk with you and sustain you. I am faithful to never leave you or forsake you. And someday, when you no longer look at reflections in that dim mirror, my faithfulness will make more sense to you than it does now.

Deep relationship cannot flourish without faithfulness. It takes tangible, consistent commitment over time to nourish a connection between two people. You have seen that in your earthly relationships.

Time, effort and one's heart and mind need to be given. You will see a great deepening of our relationship as you practice purposeful dedication to our connection.

I can empower resolute devotion in you to exclusively set apart time and resources to nourish our communion. Ask me. I want to graciously pour out my faithfulness into your heart and life. I want you to be more like me.

I have perfect, infinite constancy. I am the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. I can give you what you need for a firm, forever commitment to me.
I love you,
Abba

My Abba,
I want to be devoted to you, consistently giving my time, effort, heart and mind to an ever-deepening communion with you. Please encourage me to focus on your faithfulness. As I celebrate your unceasing loyalty to me, your faithfulness will encourage my faithfulness to you and those you have called me to love.

Make me a persistent, hungry wave returning again and again to the shore of your presence. Thank you that I can never erode your faithful love for me.

Please keep my heart bonded to you, my Provider - not to your provision. I don't want you to be a means to an end. Each morning, remind me that you are the beginning, the end, and everything in between.

Please give me a passion for your presence. You are my God and I love you. I am created for connection with you. All else falls into its proper place in the light of your love.

Reading that quote from Billy Graham was encouraging. When he was asked at the end of his life if he would do anything differently, he responded, "If I were to do it over again, I would spend more time in meditation and prayer and just telling the Lord how much I love Him and adore Him."

I have never heard of anyone saying at the end of life (or any other time actually), "I am really sorry I spent too much time adoring God!" Of this I am certain – I will never experience a trace of regret for being faithful to the One who is always faithful to me.
I love you,
Mollie
